Experienced Survey Crew Chief - St. Louis, MO

EFK Moen, LLC, a civil engineering design consulting firm, is currently seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief for a full-time position. Under the direct supervision of the Survey Manager and Project Surveyor, this position is responsible for leading the daily operation of a field crew within the Survey Department. Job location will be in our St. Louis Office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform various surveying tasks (e.g., ALTA, boundary, topographic surveys, and construction layout)
• Experience operating robotic total stations
• Experience working with GNSS receivers, data collectors, RTK GPS units - required
• Experience with Trimble equipment
• The ability to read and comprehend property descriptions
• The ability to understand the ALTA/NSPS standards
• The ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
• The ability to organize field notes and perform calculations in the field
• CST and LSIT certifications are a plus, but not required
• Computer and technical skills required
• Travel is required (approximately 20%)

Qualifications/Skills:

• Ten (10) years civil surveying experience with five (5) years as a Survey Crew Chief
• Strong experience with route surveys required
• High school diploma: Associate or bachelor's degree with relevant coursework preferred
• Attention to detail and strong math skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and coworkers
• Valid Driver's License

Physical Qualifications:

• Requires strong physical ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains, lift and transport up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods
• Demonstrate flexibility and/or agility, as well as hand dexterity to operate equipment/tools
• Willingness to endure any/all weather conditions, as well as possible exposures to poisonous plants, insects, snakes, and animals
• Job duties may require both field work and office work
• Ability to commute and/or travel long distances and/or stay overnight at project locations for extended time
